As an athlete myself and a Race Director, my heart sank when I saw the news regarding this year's Cairns Port Douglas Trail Ultra. I can assure you no-one likes to make these types of calls and I know the team at CPTU will be doing all they can to make future experiences all the more memorable. 

As most of you know, the trail-running community is a supportive one. And whilst we can't help the team or yourselves with your planned adventure; we do have an event of our own on the Gold Coast, including a stunning course through ancient rainforests, not dissimilar to what you would have experienced up north.
